CMP presents: Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Interactive Workshop

Nov 19, 2020 01:00 PM to 02:30 PM
Online

Registration Deadline: Nov 18, 2020 01:15 PM

Are you interested in pursuing a career in investment banking? Want to learn more about capital markets and investing in stocks? Join us and get all the answers you seek.

The Telfer School of Management, in conjunction with student leaders in the Capital Markets Program (CMP), is hosting a series of four virtual sessions throughout the fall 2020 to provide students with a broader understanding of high finance. This industry is highly competitive, and many firms recruit undergrads up to 2 years in advance of graduation. Through these workshops, you will explore the diverse career paths in the financial industry and receive precious advice on how to land your dream job in finance. In addition, the workshops will broadly cover financial analysis and the skills you need to make it into the industry.

In this fourth session, you will learn about:

  • how to do a basic Excel modeling and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) valuation;
  • fundamental valuation and how analysts develop target prices;
  • when to use intrinsic valuation and apply real life examples; and
  • formatting and Excel shortcuts to improve productivity.
This workshop is facilitated by the students in the Capital Markets Program (CMP) who are responsible for managing the Telfer Capital Fund (TCF).

We welcome students from all options and highly encourage students enrolled in finance to participate.
